WSOP champ Jonathan Duhamel gets robbed and offers $10,000 reward


Jonathan DuhamelCanadian 2010 World Series of Poker 2010 winner Jonathan Duhamel was a victim of a household robbery which took place on Wednesday near Montreal. Longueuil police say that two men had rang the doorbell of his home, then pushed their way in when it was opened.

According to the Canadian Press, Jonathan Duhamel was able to call 9-1-1 after being roughed up. Police arrived minutes later and had to be treated in the hospital for minor injuries. Montreal police are still investigating, whether the incident was at random or a targeted invasion.

Some of the items that went missing from the Canadian poker player were, “A considerable number of 500-Euro bills were among the loot taken” in the robbery according to the Montreal Gazette.

One of the biggest and most sentimental items was the WSOP championship bracelet and a black Rolex Submariner watch. Now according to the Globe and Mail, “he is offering $10,000 for arrests and recovery of these items; $5,000 for either arrests or the recovery of the mementoes; and $2,500 for recovery of one of the two items.”

Duhamel became recognized worldwide when he won the 2010 WSOP tournament for $8.9 million dollars. This victory made him the first Canadian to ever win a Main Event WSOP bracelet.
